Domestic Violence Program Coordinator - Rusk County

Embrace Services, Inc. has an opening for the Domestic Violence Program Coordinator based in Ladysmith, Wisconsin (Rusk County).

The position is responsible for service implementation and delivery to survivors most impacted by domestic and sexual violence in Rusk County. Responsibilities include program development using survivor-driven philosophies; providing personal advocacy, case management, and advocacy-based counseling for survivors and their families in a mobile advocacy format; providing supportive services, advocacy, and follow-up care; community and school outreach and prevention education; collaboration and co-advocacy with community agencies and other programs to promote victim safety and resource options. This position devotes advocacy efforts and resources to help survivors secure safe and stable housing that centers the “last girl” and follows Domestic Violence Housing First principles. These positions are also responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a 24/7 domestic violence crisis response program to respond and accompany domestic violence and dual survivors seeking emergency medical attention and/or advocacy accompaniment services.

The position is a salaried, exempt position with some on-call responsibilities required as part of a rotating schedule. A BS/BA degree in Human Services field and/or equivalent experience is desired, and employees must be licensed to drive in Wisconsin (current and valid) and have own transportation and vehicle insurance. Annual salary rate starts at $46,000/year, and after six months of successful employment probationary period ends, an additional $10,000/year Flexible Benefit Account will be paid out (see benefit package information to the right)

Domestic Violence Program Coordinator

On-Call Crisis Advocates

Embrace Services, Inc. has openings for On-Call Crisis Advocates that work primarily from home. On-call employees aren’t actively working; they are on standby or rest time waiting to be engaged but are available to respond immediately to helpline calls and respond out to shelter or identified location within 10 minutes of receiving the call.

The position is responsible for providing a 24/7 crisis response for survivors most impacted by domestic and sexual violence in the four-county service area of Washburn, Rusk, Price, or Barron County. The On-Call positions respond with accompaniment advocacy services to domestic and sexual violence survivors seeking transportation, forensic medical exams, emergency medical attention, and/or advocacy accompaniment services across the four-county service area. This position provides trauma-informed, empowering advocacy services and support to shelter residents and children. The position assists in maintaining a home-like environment in shelter.

The position is hourly. The on-call rate is $3.00/hour and the regular rate of pay when actively working is $17.00/hour (Sunday-Friday shifts), $18.00/hour (Saturday shifts). Successful applicants will have experience in human services, nonprofits, or another related field. Applicants must be licensed to drive in Wisconsin (current and valid) and have own transportation and vehicle insurance, must be 18 years or older, must have a mobile phone, internet access or mobile data. All crisis calls must be handled in a private, quiet, and confidential manner and location.

On-Call Crisis Advocate

Embrace’s Benefits package includes:

  • Generous PTO accrual (8 hours sick/month, 8 hours of vacation/month, and 16 hours personal/year. Sick and Vacation accruals increase after two years and again after five years of employment with Embrace.)

  • 37.5 hour work weeks, offices closed on Fridays for non-emergency services
